Digiday Media’s new editorial and design leaders
Quality over quantity is a core value at Digiday Media. We’re relentlessly focused on making sure that comes through in everything that we do and oftentimes, that starts with our editorial coverage and design. To help us continue to shape these key areas, we’re excited to introduce new editorial and design leaders.
Jim Cooper has taken on the role of Digiday’s editor-in-chief. “Jim has been working with us since June of this year as our managing editor for Digiday. In his new role, he’ll lead and honor our tradition of high quality, honest and independent journalism for the media and marketing industry,” said Digiday Media CEO Nick Friese. “Jim’s vision and high standards for journalism match up perfectly to those we set early on, yet at the same time, we will continue to evolve the Digiday brand, and go deeper into coverage for marketers, agencies and the future of advertising.”
“His experience, integrity, and leadership skills will help us grow and recruit talented journalists, improve our company culture, and expand coverage of the industries we serve.”
Along with Jim as Digiday’s editor-in-chief and Glossy’s current editor-in-chief, Jill Manoff, Cale Weissman will be leading Modern Retail as its official editor-in-chief. “Cale is one of the leading voices and best-known journalists covering the transformation of the retail industry,” said Friese. “He joined us early in the development of Modern Retail from Fast Company, and not only raised the standards of our coverage around DTC, Amazon and the store of the future, but he quickly became a leader in the organization. Last year He was promoted to editor, and with this next step as our editor-in-chief, he will be able to make a much larger impact on our team, talent and the vision for the future of Modern Retail.”
On the design side, Ivy Liu has been promoted to chief creative officer. “As chief creative officer, Ivy becomes yet another influential woman on our executive team. She has transformed the visual storytelling and design for our editorial products as well as our marketing services for our clients,” explained Friese. “With her signature style and award-winning work for Digiday Media, Ivy breaks through business design with imagination and creativity. She brings ideas and copy to life through art, illustrations, video and animations that are simply unforgettable. Her work leaves a lasting impression anytime you encounter it. Her drive to elevate all products and people around her makes her the perfect leader for our organization and our brands.”
